This is a great toothpaste, but be forewarned about the flavor. To be honest, when I first tried a Tom's of Maine toothpaste product 2 years ago, the unusual (non-sweet) flavor really shocked me. Recently, I decided to give it another try. I found that not only do I not mind the subdued flavor, it doesn't give that 'burn' that CloseUp and other main brands give. So I am finding that I actually brush my teeth far longer than before, because it's so gentle, I'm not trying to spit it out as soon as I can. I also like the lack of aftertaste that most toothpaste products leave. As far as cleaning & whitening teeth, it does just as well, if not better than any of the major brands.
