Glutathione is a tripeptide consisting of three amino acids: cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine. It is a cofactor for several enzymes, and is involved in the maintenance of SH bonds (sulfur bonds) in proteins and in membrane amino acid transport. Glutathione can recycle oxidized vitamin C.
