Background of the survey
From November 1997 to February 1998, forty-five men in New England took part in the BetterMANä survey. The participants came from three sources: urologists? referrals, volunteers recruited from printed advertising, and business contacts.
The participants were asked to take three twenty-day cycles of the BetterMANä capsules followed by three days without the capsules. They were also asked to fill out a questionnaire before and after taking the capsules to measure their sexual performance levels. This questionnaire was designed by Interceuticals, Inc. based on an inventory list developed by Harvard Medical School for measuring male sexual function (Michael O?Leary M.D. et al. Urology 46:704, 1995).
After finishing three cycles of the product, participants were asked to send the completed questionnaire back to Pathfinder Research Group (PFR), an independent, full service marketing research firm located in Acton, Mass., for tabulation and analysis of the results.
